Jaleesa web developer

 

Jaleesa is now recruiting a web developer to join its tech team.

We are looking for an experienced and creative web developer to join the team on a temporary basis as we complete the development of our v2.0 website. The developer will increase exponentially our project delivery rate, and set the standard in Middle Eastern online marketplaces. We require a full-time one month commitment, which, depending on delivery, is likely to lead to further freelance commissions.

The new website will offer exciting functionalities, fully managing the interaction and booking between families and child carers. Our ambition is to develop the world’s best tech-driven childcare service. We expect this level of ambition from the successful candidate.

The successful applicant will join a dynamic and fast-paced from a variety of backgrounds, working together closely to deliver Jaleesa’s social impact, and rapidly scale our delivery capacity.

What you’ll do:

  • Work directly with the CTO and other co-founders, break down the project features, identify scopes & effort required, and set timelines
  • Implement, test, and debug new features, responding to feedback. This work will draw on the insights of our UX researcher, a PhD behavioural psychologist based in California
  • Join regular meetings to report on development status and provide educated recommendations and review
  • Other ad-hoc tech related tasks as required (less than 5%)

Requirements:

  • At least 2-3 years building and developing scalable web apps
  • Experience with Python/Django or similar MVC web frameworks
  • Experience with Git
  • Experience with HTML, CSS, Javascript, Bootstrap
  • Experience with Postgresql or similar databases
  • Experience with caching strategies such as Redis is a plus
  • Fluent spoken English; Arabic a bonus
  • Good communication skills and willingness to engage with a close team

 


 

Jaleesa is pleased to announce new summer internship opportunities, in collaboration with CARE International in Lebanon.

Events & bookkeeping intern

The intern will work with us 30 hours per week at our offices in Kantari (and at our various events throughout Beirut and beyond) to assist our Events Director in organizing and delivering our events, and will work with our professional auditor to establish Jaleesa’s
bookkeeping processes.

The intern will learn how to found, run, and work for a successful startup. She will work closely with the c-level management, at an exciting time in Jaleesa’s development as we focus on expansion and fundraising. Her work will make a valuable contribution to the success of Jaleesa as we approach our one-year anniversary.

The internship comes with a stipend, and will last for two months: either June & July, or August & September 2017.

Recruitment intern

The intern will work with us 20 hours per week at our offices in Kantari to help us achieve our ambitious summer recruitment goals. She will work closely with Jaleesa’s Recruitment Associate to streamline and execute the onboarding and training process.

The intern will learn how to found, run, and work for a successful startup. She will work closely with the c-level management, at an exciting time in Jaleesa’s development as we focus on expansion and fundraising. Her work will make a valuable contribution to the success of Jaleesa as we approach our one-year anniversary.

The internship comes with a stipend, and will last for two months: either June & July, or August & September 2017.
